It’s that time of the year again. For those of us in the Midwest, the flowers are blooming and the temperature is rising, and that can only mean one thing: the summer movie season is almost here! This is the chance for Hollywood to pull out all the stops and give us a ride to remember. The budgets are high and so are the expectations.
This year, there’s a little something for everyone: Check-your-brain-at-the-door action flicks (The Mummy, Baywatch, Transformers: The Last Knight), smarter action flicks (Alien: Covenant, Dunkirk, Baby Driver), broad comedies (Girls Trip, The House), dark comedies (Rough Night), comic book movies (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, Spider Man: Homecoming), kids movies (Cars 3, Despicable Me 3), romantic movies (Midnight Sun), sci-fi movies (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets), and even good old-fashioned indies (Logan Lucky, The Big Sick). Whatever your movie preference, you’ll find it at a theater near you this summer.
