Longlegs

The marketing campaign for Longlegs was perfection. Glowing early reviews, a knockout trailer, and glimpses of Nicolas Cage in the title role as a demonic serial killer. The movie… was not. What went wrong?

Maika Monroe (It Follows) stars as Lee Harker, an FBI agent with psychic abilities. After demonstrating her skills in the field, she’s offered a crack at solving the case of the mysterious serial killer Longlegs (Nicolas Cage). Writer/Director Oz Perkins maintains an atmosphere of creepy dread for the first half, but eventually his film devolves into a nightmare of stupidity.
