Darren Aronofsky is best known as a writer/director of provocative films like Black Swan, Mother!, and Requiem for a Dream. Movies that are hard to watch and harder to forget. Caught Stealing is none of those things. But is it still worth watching?
Caught Stealing is written by Charlie Huston based on his novel by the same name. The story is set in the 90’s with Austin Butler playing Hank, an ordinary man thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Hank agrees to watch his neighbor’s cat, unaware that the animal possesses something wanted by a cohort of New York gangsters. Soon Hank is being chased down by violent criminals who won’t hesitate to kill him and everyone he loves.
